Recipe and Family Food Imprint Submission Guidelines
The America I AM Pass It Down Cookbook will be published by SmileyBooks in 2010. Pass It Down recipes and accompanying family food imprint stories can be submitted for consideration until October 30, 2009. After that date, no additional recipe/story submissions will be accepted for the publication.
Please note: We are not able to mail acknowledgement cards or return submissions, so please never send us your original or only copy.

An America I AM Pass It Down Cookbook submission includes a special family recipe and family food imprint story.
For Online Submission
Sign in to the website and create a personal profile. To enter your recipe online go to www.PassItDownCookbook.com, and click on “Enter to Win,” and post your recipe. All entries must included full name, street address, and phone number with area code, plus your email address. Each recipe submission should include a brief story that outlines the significance of this dish in your family, from recipe origins ("who passed it down to whom") to favorite memories of preparing and eating this dish ("why the recipe was so special to your family.") At the end of your story include a brief biographical statement. Be specific with ingredients, measurements, directions, special utensils, or anything else that is key to making your recipe successful.
You may post more than one recipe online.
For Mail Submission
Print or type your recipe on one side only of each sheet of paper. You may enter more than one recipe, but print American I AM Pass It Down Cookbook as well as your full name, street address, and phone number with area code, plus your email address (if you have one) on each page.
Each recipe submission should be accompanied by a brief story that outlines the significance of this dish in your family, from recipe origins ("who passed it down to whom") to favorite memories of preparing and eating this dish ("why the recipe was so special to your family.") Make sure that you include a 3-4 line biographical statement with your submission.

Typed manuscripts must be submitted on standard 8-1/2” x 11” paper, in 12-point font. Take the extra time to proofread your work. Remember you only have one chance to make a first impression.

All recipes submitted to the America I AM Pass It Down Cookbook recipe contest that are not chosen for publication will become available through the Good Cook social network after the completion of the contest. All participants in the contest who submit online, and who agree to the terms and conditions of the contest by creating an account with www.PassItDownCookbook.com, will have their accounts and all non-selected recipes included in the post-contest www.PassItDownCookbook.com transition automatically.
