America I AM Pass It Down Cookbook Recipe Contest
1. No Purchase Necessary. The call for Pass It Down Cookbook recipe submissions ends on October 30, 2009. The contest is open to residents of the United States only (void where prohibited), and entrants must be 18 years of age or older. Employees (and their dependents and immediate household members) of SmileyBooks and Bradshaw International, their advertising and promotional agencies, and sponsoring companies of this promotion are not eligible to participate.
2. Entering. To have a recipe considered for publication in the America I AM Pass It Down Cookbook, which will qualify you to enter our special Grand Prize drawing, complete and submit electronically or by postal mail the entry registration, which must include first and last name, mailing address, telephone number with area code, and email address and along with an original recipe and family food imprint story of no more than 500 words.

Print or type your recipe on one side only of each sheet of paper. You may enter more than one recipe, but print “American I AM Pass It Down Cookbook” as well as your full name, street address, phone number with area code, and e-mail address on each page. Multiple entries are allowed. Incomplete entries will not be considered. Online submissions using bot or automated technology are ineligible and may be deleted. SmileyBooks and Bradshaw International assume no responsibility for lost, late, or misdirected entries, or for any computer, online, telephone, or human error or technical malfunctions that may occur. All entries become the property of SmileyBooks and Bradshaw International, and will not be acknowledged or returned.
By submitting a recipe/food imprint story for publication, you grant SmileyBooks and Bradshaw International, and their parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, and licensees unrestricted use of the material, including your name, city, and state. We reserve the right to modify, reproduce, and distribute the material in any medium and in any manner. We may contact you via phone, E-mail, or mail regarding your submission.
3. Prizes and Odds of Winning. Recipes that will be included in America I AM Pass It Down Cookbook will be contacted by phone, email, or postal mail within 30 days of selection. Publication is conditional on acceptance of publishing terms. All winners will be posted at www.PassItDownCookbook.com
The Grand Prize drawing will be held on or around November 15, 2009 for a private dinner party catered by a professional chef for up to 6 individuals. All prizes are non-transferable. Substituting prizes is not allowed. Cash equivalent will not be awarded for any prize. Any applicable federal, state, and/or local taxes are the responsibility of the winner. Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received. The drawing is void where prohibited and conducted by SmileyBooks.
4. Validation and Acceptance. All prize winners will be selected in a random drawing. By entering, participants agree to be bound by these official rules. Potential winners will be notified directly and posted online at www.PassItDownCookbook.com
5. General information. SmileyBooks and Bradshaw International are not responsible for and shall not be liable for: (i) telephone, electronic, hardware, or software program, network, Internet, or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind; (ii) failed, incomplete, garbled, or delayed computer transmissions; (iii) any condition caused by events beyond the control of Hay House, Inc., SmileyBooks, and/or Bradshaw International that may cause the drawing to be disrupted or corrupted; (iv) any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising in connection with or as a result of the Grand Prize, or acceptance, possession, or use of the Grand Prize, or from participation in the drawing; or (v) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the drawing.
SmileyBooks reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to suspend or cancel the drawing at any time if a computer virus, bug tampering, unauthorized intervention, or other technical problem of any sort corrupts the administration, security, or proper play of the drawing. SmileyBooks also reserves the right to disqualify, in its sole discretion, any person tampering with the entry process, the operation of the Web site, or who is otherwise in violation of the rules. By participating in the drawing, each participant agrees to release and hold SmileyBooks and Bradshaw International harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims, and actions of any kind in connection with the drawing, or resulting from acceptance, possession, or use of any prize, including without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy.
